2018 The Bear and the Bees

Clean linen, marzipan and dark cherry offer an aromatically powerful invitation to the 2018 B&B.  The purity of this wine is stunning - a clear line of fruit and fine tannin from front of the palate to the back shows its pedigree.  In the palate, the wine opens rich with fleshy, ripe plum and anise spice welded around a frame of mahogany and dark cocoa.  Pleasurable notes of warm almond cookie, dried fruit and tobacco add interest while a minerally touch of ash is beautiful and focusing.  This wine is classy in its Bordeaux-like texture:  the tannins are taut, age-able, and relax after a few sips.  Destined to be a graceful ager, this wine has longevity and will last for decades.
