2018 Kelly Fleming Sauvignon Blanc
“With a zesty opening of textured citrus peel, this wine has vervy acidity and distinct flavors of peach, jasmine and lime. Aged in stainless steel and neutral and new French oak, it has a balanced approach to ripeness and lasting complexity.” 92 Pts. -Virginie Boone, Wine Enthusiast
The 2018 Sauvignon Blanc is fresh, floral, and vibrant with crisp, minerally acidity. The nose brings forth an array of aromatics- lime zest, ripe stone fruits, jasmine blossom and subtle toasty oak spice. Abundant flavors of mandarin orange, white peach, and honeydew melon, come together with a subtle briny note that adds character and complexity to the wine. The palate is soft and coating on entry, yet has a wet-stone minerality that provides both tension and length to the citrusy profile of this wine.
The 2018 Sauvignon Blanc is a blend of Sauvignon Musque coming from two contrasting vineyard sites. Kick Ranch is a hillside vineyard located on the western side of Spring Mountain, and is graced by the cool coastal fog of Sonoma County. This site provides the driving, minerally acidity and fresh citrus notes. The Aetna Springs vineyard in Pope Valley (a sub-AVA of Napa Valley), sees hotter summer days and contributes warmer characters like ripe stone fruit and tropical notes with a touch of spice.
