2013 Big Pour Napa Red
About the Wine
Big Pour is the companion label to Kelly Fleming Wines. Each vintage brings a new opportunity to reinvent the Big Pour blend by building from our estate Cabernet Sauvignon and adding Bordeaux varietals from neighboring vineyards.
2013 Big Pour Napa Valley Red Wine
Kelly Fleming Wines is proud to present the newest release of Big Pour. The 2013 vintage emerges from an historic Napa Valley growing season – one that highlights the best of our vineyard. This wine is defined by our estate Cabernet Sauvignon and enhanced with fruit from neighboring Napa Valley vineyards.
The final blend is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Syrah, 7% Malbec and 4% Petit Verdot. This wine was aged for approximately 20 months in French oak barrels before being bottled in June 2015. Limited quantities are available directly from the winery.
As always, we suggest you pour big and remember that this wine pairs particularly well with family and friends.
Big Pour Moment
Each vintage brings a new opportunity to feature a distinctive photograph transformed into a label, immortalizing a perfect Big Pour moment. This year’s photo was taken by Gabriel Radu and features Colleen Fleming venturing out onto a new path, her very own wine & beer bar that she recently opened with business partner Aubrey Bailey in downtown Napa (CADET).
The 2013 BIG POUR is a wine that encapsulates the best of what Napa Valley has to offer. Combining 75% Cabernet from our Calistoga property, alongside Malbec from Oakville, as well as both Petit Verdot and Syrah from Coombsville, this wine is a true expression of Napa Valley. It is incredibly fragrant, offering luscious notes of Maraschino cherry, red licorice, fraise de bois and and clove-scented citrus. Secondary aromatics spur further interest with notes like tobacco box, cinnamon spice, black tea and toasted pecan. The palate, equally enticing, presents a round coating quality on entry, followed by fine, velvety tannins on the finish. Core flavors of candied cherry, black licorice and Campari are enveloped by warm, delicious notes of baking spices and dark chocolate. The wine is powerful and robust, yet feminine and vibrant all at once.
